WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?

Luckily, before I went out I'd taken my SIM out of my iPhone and put it in an old handset (as I always do because I'm TERRIFIED of losing it like I've lost two old phones) and it's a good job because my phone got stolen from my bag. Some random scouser bumped into me, and I didn't think anything of it until a few minutes later when I went to get my phone out and it wasn't there despite being there a few minutes BEFORE he bumped into me. Grr. So, now I have to get a new SIM and sort out transferring my number and all that shit. God, I hate going out in town.

Scousers complain about having a bad name, and yet someone has done the one thing that scousers have the worst name for.

WHY DO I HAVE THE WORST LUCK WITH LOSING BAGS AND PHONES.

COMPLETELY SHIT NIGHT. I'm just glad I don't take my iPhone out, because OMG, the SOBBING that I'd have done!

GRRRRR.

05:33 pm - Thank God For Cars and iPhone's!

Got off work an hour early... YAY!

Not so yay... being locked out if my housd and having to wait ib my car.

Because my dad didn't expect me to be home until an hour later, he went out and locked the mortess (sp?) - anti-burglary type lock - which I don't have a key for because I lost mine a while ago. He's at work (a taxi driver), miles and miles away and my mum and sister are both out shopping in a town about twenty minutes away that I guess I could drive to and get the key, but by that time my dad would probably be back home and I would have wasted all that petrol.

So, that leaves me stranded here playing Bejeweled with a very high chance of falling asleep!

I should have just stayed in work (not really but hey, at least I'd gave earnt close to a fiver in the time I've been sat here.)

03:08 pm - Sunshine!

It's a lovely day today so I'm sat in the back garden, even though I can barely see the screen of the laptop, but we have to make the most of the nice weather here as we get so little of it. Although, we are supposed to be having a heat wave this summer.

I'm not really fussed about holidays because the humid heat when we go away always makes me feel sweaty and disgusting and uncomfortable, but it's different at home. I love when it's warm here. I love how much happier such a simple little thing makes people. I love that it's so much easier to get out of bed in the morning and to feel positive about things. But most of all, I love listening to the sounds of our street, which seems to suddenly come alive on days like this. I love the sound of people mowing their grass and of children laughing and people working on their cars and of people playing music whole they sit in the garden.

*sigh*

03:51 pm - Being Productive!

While cleaning my car, I got bitten by a slightly more original bunny for my [info]weasley_fest fic than I already had. I'm a little more excited about this one, even though I don't have all the details worked out yet. I think I'll be able to tailor this a bit more to my recipent which is good... and I'm feeling slightly more motivated to write it now :)

[info]star54kar if you're online at all today I'd love to discuss it a little with you and see what you think. Comment me if you see this and I'm not on YIM.

Turns out being productive for once on a Satursay actually did some good other than not having a pig-sty for a car for once!

So, I have a nice new dress and gorgeous new shoes...

... and nowhere to wear them.

My friend has just found out she has to work early on Saturday morning, so we won't have time to get back from Wales and therefore we can't go! :(

Oh well, I suppose I have an outfit for all the summer madness I'm expecting now and I won't have to stress about it at the time.

And in other good news, FOUR DAY WEEKEND, YAY! And as I've not got much to do I'm thinking I need to get cracking with my [info]weasley_fest... eek!

03:00 pm - Help me procrastinate!
POSTING TWO DAYS ON THE RUN - WHAT'S ALL THAT ABOUT?

I'm feeling very bored this afternoon, and although I should be doing work or writing fic or something I just cannot be bothered. So, ideas anyone of what I can do instead? Please don't make me do work!

I think it's time for a meme that I think was around a while ago but I'm hoping you'll help me do it now because it'll keep me entertained. I'm in a picture-taking mood at the moment, so give me something to photograph. Tell me something you want to see, or ask me a question and I'll try and answer it with a photo. Please.

Here's a pic to start. I forgot to tell you, when I bought the new dress I also bought these shoes even though I couldn't afford them because omg I love them far too much. You can't tell here because of all the pinkness but they're very very silver and shiny!

01:04 am - An update, because I miss this so much!
I'm going down to Wales next weekend coming to visit my best friend at uni with another of our best friend. We're traveling on Friday of bank holiday weekend... to Wales... basically at rush hour... oh, how fun the traffic will be. But at least it will be the start of a four day weekend!

I love work, I adore the kids, but there's such a hostile environment lately there between the staff and management that it's becoming uncomfortable sometimes. I understand it, because I'm feeling hostile towards them too. A couple of the supervisor/manager people are away on maternity leave, so they've brought in a couple of people from our "sister" nursery to help out and they're changing EVERYTHING. Some changes are good, but others are pointless and there's far too many fighting for the power and control and it makes things so extremely awkward at times. I've been working quite a bit lately, I come home exhausted with no energy, not wanting to do anything but sleep. Then, at the end of the month when I get my wages I look at my wageslip and think "Is this really worth it?" *sigh* We really don't get paid enough for what we do.

So... a four day weekend will be very welcome.

I went today and bought a new dress for the Friday night. I'm so, so fussy with clothes shopping - I hate everything I try on. When the friends were home for Easter I bought this dress which is so NOT me, all my friends were very shocked but positive about it and I did surprisingly feel good in it.

Every time we go out, I always worry because all my friends look great and I feel so uncomfortable and frumpy next to them. For Friday, I bought this which is again a lot shorter than I'm used to, but my mum and sister have convinced me it looks good on me.

God, I miss LJ so much. I haven't posted properly in a while. My life is just not exciting at the moment, and I'm always tired. I'm sorry if I haven't commented much recently, I've been tiredly skimming the flist. I hope you're all wonderful.

PS. Harry/Ron fans, go and read and vote for your favourite drabbles at the new Harry/Ron Anonymous Drabble challenge. I wrote one that has like zero chance of winning next to all the brilliant stuff there, but I've written so little this year (OMG STRUGGLING WITH [info]weasley_fest SO MUCH) and it felt good to get ANYTHING down really.

11:07 pm - Happy St Paddy's Day (or Night)!
Went for an Indian tonight and only had one drink which is pretty bad considering it's Paddy's Day but I agreed to drive home (with my dad's supervision) and get some practice in for my driving test on Monday! (Eek - shitting myself!)

Here, have a couple of pointless pictures... )

In other news, I've been convinced to try Firefox out. I've only ever used IE so I've been a little reluctant to switch. I've never really had any problems with IE but recently it seems to be freezing and shutting down on me randomly quite a lot. [info]star54kar mentioned that she'd been considering it and after reading some replies to her post I decided to try it out. I'm pleased I did. I'm liking it so far, and it's not so radically different that it's completely alien to me after IE.

What add-ons do you Firefox users use? I'm loving the LJ one, and I've also got Delicious, IE Tab, Webmail Notifier and Fast Dial. Any useful/cool ones I'm missing?

ETA: Just discovered Word Count Plus, which is going to come in very handy for reading/reccing fics. Sometimes, if I'm reccing a fic or deciding if I'll have enough time to read something (and the fic hasn't got a word count) I get frustrated because I have to copy the text into Word to get it to count. Now I can do it in the browser! Time saver like woah!

12:18 am - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button yesterday.

It was good, but not as good as I was expecting. Every person that I spoke to about it had raved about it and told me they'd cried their eyes out so I was expecting something very brilliant. It was a bit slow to start with, took me a little bit to get into it. I suspect that's because I generally watch films for romance and that didn't really come until a bit later. I think they did a really good job with the make-up and everything for the de-aging process though. It was moving in places, I did shed a tear or two near to the end but I wasn't sobbing... and I cry at everything.

It's worth watching, but I'd rather have watched it at home than paid money to see it (although my dad actually paid last night lol).

---

Why is it that when my To Read list is massive I can't resist going back and reading older fics instead? I'm reccing Harry/Ron at [info]crack_broom this month so I've been reading some recent favourites. God, I love those boys so much! But you already knew that...
